TEKTIC Elluminate Sessions: Come join the fun!

Come join us every third Thursday of the month from 12:00 – 1:00pm PST when we host the TEKTIC Elluminate presentations. These monthly electronic rounds showcase TEKTIC-funded projects from the past three years. Sessions include a 15 – 20 minute presentation by a TEKTIC researcher followed by a 30 – 40 minute discussion and chat session with audience members where questions, comments and feedback are encouraged.

Past sessions have included project presentations from Dr. Sandra Jarvis-Selinger, Dr. Michal Fedeles and Dr. Helen Novak Lauscher that focused on different aspects and applications of information and communication technologies within the healthcare context and patient care. Presenters have commented that these sessions were a valued opportunity that gave them practical and informative feedback on both developing and ongoing projects. Sandra found that her presentation helped her connect to other TEKTIC members who were doing similar activities, “In my case it lead to [another TEKTIC member] and I talking about how our two projects could connect and move into a new phase.” Helen appreciated the opportunity to practice presenting in an online format with a friendly group and also noted that having the whole session recorded, including the chat box dialogue, was useful in really incorporating the feedback into the project. Sessions are opened to everyone. Past attendees have included TEKTIC members, new members, project partners and colleagues.

The next session is scheduled for Thursday, May 21 12:00 – 1:00pm PST. Dr. Harry Karlinsky and Mr. Tunde Olatunbosun will lead the presentation and discussion with an overview of their Understanding the Impact of Physician Led Moderation on the Growth of an Electronic Community of Practice (profiled in the month’s TICr).
